I have been running IRC Mythos front and rear, setup tubeless on Stan's rims. But I'm wanting a front tire with a little more cornering traction. I've been reading all the glowing reports on this forum concerning the new Nevegal and Rampage. Has anyone out there tried either of these two tires with a Stan's tubeless setup???

Thanks.

i've been running the rampage up front for the last 3 weeks with no problems, mounted to the ztr's with 25 lbs. infact i'd have to say they were one of the easiest tires to inflate, no weeping through the side walls and they sealed up so quickly i could have used a floor pump.

I've done many tubeless conversions. Panaracer tires have been without a doubt the easiest brand to seal up with Stans (fire xc, fire FR, cinder), so I suspect that the Rampages will do well also.

Perhaps unfortunate coincidence, but the fire xc converted to tubeless had sticks pierce the carcass twice. I chalked it up to it being too "racy" and light of a tire, and went back to tubes when that tire was desired.

I've Had The Same Question........

But after the trouble we had getting the 26" Nevegals to seal up on my wife's bike I'm staying away from the 29" Nevegal.

We didn't have any problem getting the bead to seat to the rim, the problem was the tire itself seemed to be so porous I thought we'd never get it to quit leaking. Ended up adding 3-4 times the usual amount of sealant before they finally sealed up. Took about two weeks and multiple additions of sealant before they stopped leaking.

They're fine now, but what a pain to get them sealed :(

Wonder if the 29'er version has the same issue? Or for that matter, Kenda tires in general?

I will likely go with the Rampage because of our experience with the 26" Neve's.

I just picked up a Rampage and a Nevegal and wouldnt mind going the Stans conversion route. I did it with my 26er and loved it!

I've been looking around, is notubes.com the only place to pick up the 29er rim strips?

I just purchased a Stan's ZTR Arch 29er wheelset today directly from Stan's. I was told that Maxxis tires (with kevlar beads) seems to work the best so far with the rims, but I was also told that I could try the Rampage or Nevegal tires. Even though they say on their website to only use wire beaded tires (especially WTB tires), Mike at Stan's said that he has heard good results with some kevlar/aramid beaded tires (he specifically said Maxxis Ignitor).

I will probably try the Panaracer Rampage tires first (using Stan's) then post my results.

FYI...I was told that the Arch rims wouldn't be available until end of the month or first of February. With the way the bike industry goes it will probably be even longer:)
