Any one know any thing about Raleigh skylite Techinum
I just saved one from becoming scrap metal. It's in very
good shape, all original , other than it bar. I have done
a lot of googling and looking, but the only thing I found is
a single photo. I have found a little on Techinum bikes in
general, but not this bike.

I looks like a hybrid/MTB type bike looks like about 1988-89ish.
I am going to clean it up and sell it at some point in time.
The tire say mountain bike on the sides, but not reall a MTB tire by
todays standard.
Would be cool to know a little more about it, and if it was marketed
as a MTB or hybrid.

Just don't ask what it's worth, and this will all be fine.

I have no idea on the model, I'm sure someone here does though....
Yea, I am sure their is no value it, being it was not very popular.
I am practicing fixing up old cheep bikes, until I get the hang of old school stuff.
Then I will work my way up to an Alex Singer or a Rene Herse.

Gothcha. Well, this group is more skewed towards the MTB end of things, but there's a few here who appreciate a nice, well appointed old school randonneur.

Have a buddy with several Herse's and Singers actually.

Things is, then he found Ebisu, and now has a few of those, and the list goes on. Good luck stopping once you pop that top.....:D

Raleigh did the Sky Lite and City Lite bikes which were just their around-town bikes. The City Lite even used a rear drum brake. Made in USA bonded aluminum frames were kinda neat. They City Lites were closed out at a pretty hefty discount and came with an additional rear drum wheel since the original ones were not powerful enough.
