When life gives you weather you make weatherade!

Let's see your rain bike. Mtb, cross, roadie? Let's see the setup. Let's exchange tips on clothing too.

What about other activities? What else is there to do?

I've been riding my moto at skeggs.
Bwahahahaha!
I am going to take advantage of this rain by taking my bike out for a street ride.....mostly so all the free water will wash my bike.......= )
It's pretty crusty right now, and I usually only clean it after winter is over.
I figure I'll get a few miles in, and by the time I get back, it should be spotless.
I did just get my hands on my first road bike.
Fuji Professional 2.0
Hope to get it out alot between now and spring.
I just need to get used to the skinny tires. They're kinda sketchy.

I've got the single speed, but I really don't like riding in the deep muck on any bike. When it's just too wet I've got the rock gym, that's usually engaging enough to keep me from my 2.3827 mile long (and growing) list of things that need to be done.

Well, here it is after about 12 miles up and back the Iron Horse Trail. Got pretty clean.
There must have been at least a pound of mud on it before. i should have taken a before picture.

Here is my new skinny tire bike to ride through winter.
It ain't pretty, but it will work. 105/Ultegra group.
I'll prolly ditch the Liberator saddle and change a few things. Pedals, stem and such.
Next project, cross bike!!!

I dun have the balls to roll in the rain with a road bike and/or be clipped in.

So this hybrid will suffice - if the occasion warrants.

My magnesium bike project:

Frame, pedals, brakes, bar ends, and bottle cage are all Magnesium

Fork is titanium and the rest is Aluminum.

The wheels were free with Kevlar puncture resistant tires, so it weighed at 21lbs with pedals.

I love the feel of Magnesium....

The old racer bike is now the mudbike

The M2 Miguel used to race was replaced by his Yeti Arc. Now the M2 is a combination of XT/LX, Deore/Mavic wheels, Marathon fork with Marta SL disc. It will do the dirty work.

The Usual Suspect

Here's my "rain" bike:

Salsa Chili Con Crosso. 10spd. Campy Chorus shifters, Shimano 12-27 9spd. cassette, old Ritchey cranks [sq taper] w/48/36 chainrings, Paul's brakes, Mavic Kysrium wheels w/Michelin tires set up tubeless. Time or Crank Bros Candy pedals. Just under 20 lbs.

Wet weather apparel tips: wool sock and arm warmers, and Lake MXZ 300 shoes.
