They were out in Stevens Canyon. The ranger was talking to a rider when I went by.

I was flying down Stevens Canyon trail friday mid-morning, when lo and behold as I am rounding a long sweeping turn, an MROSD truck comes cruising UP the same trail. I locked up the brakes, swerved to the right, and passed him on what was fortunately a grassy shoulder. I don't even think he saw me until I was almost past his driver side window. No harm, no foul... I didn't stop, he didn't stop, and I continued blasting down to the Grizzly Flats turn off (about a mile further down the trail).

Moral of the story... radar is not the only danger!
you guys keep misspelling this. It's not radar, it revenue generator.
I have not receive a mtb speeding ticket in years... how much are the fines/fees these days?

$360-400 for a first offense, last I heard.
yup. rangers spotted thursday with heat gun in hand on canyon trail. Just after the 1.3 mi marker going down they set up a speed trap at the bottom of the fast section and were standing right on the lip of the jump. Also a ranger was walking further down the trail to stop speeders who decide to run after being seen. Luckily I witnessed this while climbing up.
