I've got two sets of 29er wheels one with Stan's Arch rims and one with Mavic TN719's. Now I'm ready to build my first rigid singlespeed and I want to use a RR 2.4 up front. Will it work with one of these rims or do I need a wider rim?

I could feel my 2.25 Racing Ralph squirm noticeably under hard cornering when used as a rear at ~24 psi. I'm riding a Bontrager RXL rim which is about 24 mm. No idea how this would translate to a 2.4 front.

It should work fine. I ran the 2.4 up front for most of 2008 on my older 24mm wide American Classic rims/wheels with no issues:
