Race your Mono?

Do any of you guys race Monos? I just got an '09 Flight on ebay for $700, and I'm wondering if it's worth lightening up my Mono, or if I should get a dedicated race rig.

I raced a 26" FS last year, and figured I would try a 29er SS this year.

Thanks.

Depends on how serious you are. If you aren't expecting to make podium every race then you should be fine. I don't race but I may try with mine. My 19" came in at 28lbs with a few heavier parts. Get some light wheels/tires and carbon bits and go to town.
There is a local guy here that races one in the SS class. I can't remember if he has a Reba or Fox fork, but he's won some races with it.
i just raced mine yesterday, and i bet my 28ish lb. 07 cog had around 5 lbs on most of the people i raced.
Racing mine at the end of the month. 25lbs SS

What is your setup losing 3 lbs would be nice.
