race question

There is a local race on this Sat. that I'm contemplating racing. It should last approx. 2 1/2 hours for the expert level riders. NORBA nationals is the following Sat. in California and I committed to riding the xc race on Sat..

Would it be better if I skip the race this Sat. and do some brief intervals in order to stay "fresh" for next weekend. I don't know if racing this Sat. would be the wisest choice on my part. Being at LT for close to 2 1/2 hours takes some time to recover. Any insight you guys/gals have would be great. Thanks!

Do it, race

resting a week before a race will more likely hinder your performance then help it. Put in a hard weekend, rest monday, ride tuesday and wed. Rest THURSDAY, ride with decent effort friday but not quite at race level.

Resting a day before a race = heavy legs
2 days before is ideal.
