Race Face took its time updating this popular platform pedal, but it appears the brand addressed the shortcomings of the previous version with an oversized bearing and Igus bushing combination as well as a new chromoly spindle design that ensures the spindle can't separate from the pedal body—a failure mode that some Mtbr members experienced.

The Atlas is a burly pedal with a large, 110x108mm platform, 6.5mm-tall pins, and a 12mm profile. As with the original Atlas pedal, the 10 pins per side thread in from the back. If you want less grip, Race Face includes spacers to reduce the pin height to tone it down a notch. One key feature of the new Atlas is compatibility with all cranks on the market, including those with crank boots. Another welcome update is user serviceability with standard tools.
