Thoughts:

1 - Dude get a fender.

2 - What helmet?

3 - Cool bike!

Very nice bike.
Simple question and it might be some photo distortion:
Your cranks seem to be normal XT and your chainring is in the middle position.
Your cog is on the extreme outside position and on the third photo, your chain seem seriously bent. Have you tried to move either your ring on the outside or your cog on the inside ?
Yes, a fender would be nice. But I haven't found one that looks good enough to put on that bike! :)

The helmet is a Giro Pneumo from a few years ago.

eric_syd, I also thought the chain looked weird in the picture. It's photo distortion. If you look closely, the ring is actually mounted in the most outboard position on the crankset.

Beautiful bike (sans the bars, sorry, not a fan). What's the gearing?

Thanks! I am not blown away by the looks of the Jones Bars, but for rides over 6 hours I insist on them; they just plain *work* for me.

The ratio is 34x16.

as a owner of two quirings myself, i must say "great looking bike"
my mtb is set up nearly the same as yours
BB drop looks substantial though I doubt it's anything more than normal.
the bike is awesome. i think maybe the guy who commented on your bars was talking about the red/black tape combo? i wish i had the bike to hang those bars on. i don't need them on my 5.5'' travel bike though!

I agree - I stopped worrying about what my bars looked like a long time ago - as long as they are comfortable and give the control I want - that's the ticket. I rode off-road all day on Saturday, smooth, dirt road, techy, my Jones-bend bars were great and my hands and wrists never bothered me. Like the Quiring alot - nice rig!
Cool bike. Is that a 29er or 26er carbon fiber fork in front?

Thanks! It's a 29er fork.
