Quilcene:

If you can even make it up. There is a 3 inch layer of death ice most of the way up the road. Trail is OK for the lower half, but sloppy and snowy on the upper half.

Capitol:

Same old slop. Upper trails around capitol peak, Larch moutain, and Rock candy were good, with minor amounts of snow. Lower trails are a sloppy joke, as usual this time of year. North Rim#1 down to Waddel is extreme sludge 'o rama. My bike had about 15 pounds of capitol grease hanging in the frame and tires. Worst section of trail in the world to hit when wet. Frozen spots were good, but far and few between. The ride out of there was hell through those woops.

Wait until next weekend to hit quilcene. The weather is going to warm up and melt the ice and snow.

Capitol is only good on the upper parts this time of year. Tons of snow left on the road near the top. Should be gone with a week of warm weather.

Ohhhh, and green mountain ALWAYS kicks ass. I've never had a bad day there. :D

Banner Firest this past week

Not one bit of standing water at Banner, little or no mud, hard pack trails, very fast and enjoyable. Outstanding trail maintenance, even after the big winds this weekend, folks were working hard to clear the blow down.
