I need to make a snap decision on this, I picked up some slx brakes (m7000) to replace the crap brakes on my B bike (hardtail). Some say they are just as good performers as the XT, so now thinking of putting the new brakes on my A bike (fully) and swapping the year-old XT m8000 onto B bike.

Weight is not an issue. XTs have about 700 miles on them. I ride A about twice as much as B.

What would you do?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah... the idea was that new brakes would go further before needing service. That may not be enough of a reason to do the extra work now though....
You might find that swapping is not as easy as it sounds if the brake hoses aren't long enough. I am using both XT M8000s and SLX M7000s - they are both fine. Bleeding these things is pretty easy - I wouldn't worry about the maintenance side of things personally.
