i think its abit of a stupid question but just wanna confirm it..those a bike which uses a 31.6 seatpost use a 31.8 front dee clamp?

It all depends on how the seat tube is butted/manipulated.
It would be best to measure the area where the f derailleur clamp will go.
Seatpost size and f derailleur clamp size are completely independant measurements.

That would be one super thin seat tube! Just measure the outside diameter of the seat tube at the clamp area.

34.9 mm is generally used by Specialized on their 30.9 seat post...you should be fine with that because I don't know too many people making/stocking binders in a 35.9...

erm my frame is a Scott Team Issue...what diameter clamp should i get? i dont have the tools to measure right now..

edit: ok nvm i went to light-bikes.com and found out that i have to use a 34.9 clamp..thx anyway guys!
