Quick KMC X10SL Question

Just threw this chain on my 2x9 setup. Came in at 231g at the proper length. My question is: do you have to use the Kmc Missing Link to repair if it breaks. Or will the Kmc universal link work?

the replacement link works fine, even better
one time i went to remove my chain and the link wouldn't come off
i had to saw it off and replaced it with the kmc 10sp link found at shops
the replacement link comes apart every time

Works fine.
I usually use a silver link on the gold chain so I can find it easier.
But it will add .02 grams to your bike:eek:
