How is this bike:
http://www.rscycle.com/s.nl/it.A/id....7&category=56#
For someone who is 5'11" and about 220#? I would be using it to commute to work (with proper tires) but still want something capable for some offroad use. Since I am a newbie, I don't anticipate any huge drops or extreme trails, but I still want something decent

Also, how is the overall value of this bike considering there is 10% off as well on the site bringing it to about $566 or so. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

I posted this is Clydesdales section as well, but thought I might get some more input here, at least in terms of bike quality.

Quick answer

it's for 14-year-old kids with a year to trash it:

it's below stardards for anything other than streets and flat trails in the woods - not a serious bike for anything, sorry.

Fork: RST GILA T6, 100MM TRAVEL
Rear Shock: TOUGH SHOCK FD COIL 6.5X1.5
Front Derailleur: SHIMANO FD-C050
Rear Derailleur: SHIMANO ACERA
Shifters: SRAM MRX COMP GRIP SHIFT
Brakes Levers: ALLOY
Brakes: ALLOY LINEAR PULL
Chain: KMC Z72
Crankset: SUNTOUR XCC150
Cassette: SHIMANO HG-30 12-32 8 SPEED
Pedals: RESIN PLATFORM

A decent FS bike will cost you at least $1000 for basic entyr level.

As long as you don't do any dirtjumping, you're just fine.

That fork sucks but it works. Trade up with Zocchi during the first month and you get a huge discount on a new fork. I wore my bushings out in like a week with my MZ Comp.
