I have a Nomad with a 2009 domain 302 that I'd like to up grade to a 2010 lyrik solo air. The steerer for both are 1.5, so I assume that I can still use the same headset for the lyrik. My main concern is the axle. I'm pretty sure the domain has a 20 mm axle (maxle) and the lyrik has a 20 mm maxle light. noobish question for sure, but are these 2 axles compatible?

Yes. No difference in axle size.

If a fork uses a 20mm axle then the axle will come with the fork. So while the domain axle may not be compatible with the lyrik it won't be an issue. Your new fork should come with an axle and it will work with any 20mm wheel.
