on my 2010 cannondale f5 i noticed on my sram rear derailer that the "L"low limit is turned all the way in and the "H" high limit is set out most of the way is this normal?i had alittle bit of a problem with the gear shifts getting hung up but seemed to have fixed that with cable adjustments should there be routine adjustments made with the derailer?

The Low limit and high limit screws are only there to prevent the derailleur from going into the spokes or for having the chain dropping to far towards the frame. It doesn't matter how far the screws are in/out of the derailleur body. Only thing that matters is that its setup properly.

On a new bike, after a few rides, the cables stretch or elongate, causing shifting and braking not to be crisp. You did the correct thing with the cable adjustment.
