This may go against common reasoning, but can the GF Rig be adapted to gears? I can't tell for sure on their website. It looks like it has a braze-on for the rear derailleur cable but I don't see a hanger. I am thing of trying the big wheels and it would be nice to have the option.

There was a good thread on running gears on a Rig recently. Look back several pages.

The options that came up were:
- Internal geared hub like the Rohloff
- Shimano Hone rear axle mounted der (need wheel built with Hone hub)
- Budget Shimano rear der that has der hanger builtin that clamps to quick bolt (Tourney). Commonly found on beach cruiser bikes

The show and catalog bike had zip tie cable mounts on the drive side, but the production ones don't. sorry. you can still use zipties without the fancy mounts though.

Here is a link to a SRAM rear der that has the der hanger builtin. So your quick release bolt will keep it in place. Will just be hassle for rear wheel removal.
