I will be having a wheelset built by Chain Reaction Cycles soon. I can get Kore QR skewers with it for $30, Hope skewers for $40 or I could buy XTR skewers separately for $80. Which are the best skewers (I don't care about weight)? I would think the Shimano skewers would hold up best, being internal cam, versus the external cams of the other skewers. However, I want the opinion of the forums before deciding to spend the extra cash (which is a good bit).

The internal cams are best, but I'd probably just go for XT level.

Ok. XT would cost about $45 or so, that would be more reasonable. (too bad the XTs look so bland)

I use Hope skewers and have had no problems on my HT rigid. Just keep them clean and put a splash of grease on them everytime after a clean up ... so the choice is up to you ...
