Planning on purchasing a new Rockshox Revelation Dual Air Position (150/120). Should I send right off to PUSH or should I ride it awhile? I have heard some issues with getting full travel out these and thought it would help to get it PUSHed right away. Any thoughts--first time going from Fox to RS.

Buy it ride it and find out what you like and dislike. a lot of people say they feel awesome out of the box. Besides if your gonna get it tuned wouldn't you wanna be able to tell the tuner what you don't like about it and what you wanna improve?

Being a PUSH fan in general I'd say send it in now. They consistently make good, better. However good that revelation is, it will be better when it comes back.
That being said, ride it a while and figure it out. No real hurry.

Thanks for feedback...

.....and I totally agree to ride first. I guess a bit nervous: A) going from Fox which I have generally had good success with; and B) talk of issues of sag increasing from air leakage on the Revelation Dual Air Position Forks. I can get good prices on RS vs Fox and really want the adjustability for climbing as my 575 wanders on long steep climbs a bit at the 140 setting on my old Fox Float.

what do you weigh? most suspension components are designed off the shelf for a middle of the road weight. i think around 165pds. if you are close to that ride it for a bit. if you are far away on either end of the scale the compression and rebound valving would be greatly improved by getting it tuned for your weight.

changing the air pressure will only adjust the spring curve. the stock valving will be the same, so if you are a lot heavier or lighter than 165 you will definitely reap the benefits of a tune

I sent my wife's new Revelation in right away. I got a great deal on an air u-turn, and knowing that the u-turn has problems, I wanted to get it fixed right away. Plus, she's under 120 lbs, and I wanted the fork to be optimized for her weight. I'm traveling through the end of March, so I can't give any feedback on performance.

+1 It's your money why not get the fork tune exactly how you like it. I'd ride it for a few weeks or months til you know what you want to keep or improve. Pushed can deliver for sure, that's why you pay the big bucks for.
