Has anyone ever dealt with this before? It should just be a matter of replacing these two parts, right? I think I've already sourced some on ebay.

Lever bent the wrong way and the ball at the end of the push rod pulled through the retaining washer and retaining ring.

it's happened to me 3 times, i called hayes each time and they sent me the parts for free. repair is a little tricky but nothing you couldn't handle, they will send you instructions with the parts.

Thanks for the tip! I called them up and they're going to send me the parts I need. How convinient! You saved me a trip to the shop. Also, the repair kit I saw on ebay was the wrong one.
