Well guys/gals,

It's that time of year again and it's time to build a new RFX. This time I got a completely raw frame from the boys so that I could do the build truely from scratch. This year the bike will be getting a Rock Shox Lyric 2 step air and running a custom RP23 remote to be used as a light all mountain bike.

Soooooo.......now I'm looking for a little advise on color options. I've attached the two fork color options for your feedback and would be curious to hear your comments on frame color.

Let the heckling begin!

Darren

What's that Darren? You want some heckling and clowncrap? I'm your man.:D

First observation; the forks. I like the black one, but the silver lowers with a black crown?
Yuck. That might look funky with any frame color other than a silver/black combo.

Are you painting the swingarm parts as well?

My first vote for paint scheme is camo. Desert camo. Will go well with black and black/silver forks.

P.S. Can I borrow a Lyric for the weekend?

Why do you care about 5 Spot rockers? Do you have a spot?

Excuse me sir, you need to focus on the projects you've hinted towards releasing:
1. dhx kit
2. ti rotors
3. 5 spot rockers
4. nomad linkage bits
Focus man! Focus!

:cornut: I'd go with the Black fork, and then paint the RFX baby blue. Keep the swingarm silver. Put all black components on it: Handlebar, Stem, Cranks, Gravity Dropper, ect.

I say go with the black fork (I'll come and buy the silver one off you - does this arvo work for you?).

As for the paint - go with the Push colors and have the push logo painted over the frame in various spots.

[edit] or keep it raw and paint the push logo so it looks like a bunch of push stickers wraped around the frame. Then clear coat the whole thing.

Since you appear to change bikes frequently, I would go for something REALLY loud, that is an impulsive color choice you will tire of quickly, but which won't matter since you will unload it in less than a year anyway.

The black fork with a Metallic-Sparkle-Pink frame for sure.

So this custom build should take what, like eight or nine months before we see the finished product, once you take into account things like selecting the right spring rate? :p

Miles, I would suspect that, given Darren's history of not hitting his release dates for his new products and services, that this bike build will be 6 years in the making. :bluefrown: :skep: :yikes: :D

Darren, I know that you're a hard core 1980's rock fan:yesnod: How about the Pat Benatar look? It's you, oh it's so you:

I like the way it (raw Al) looks as is
I agree...the raw looks pretty cool

Keep the swingarm silver
Not sure.....I think that I want the front and rear to match. Black components....check.

would be interesting.....

What's a RP23 remote?
A high oil volume RP23 that I'm going to build to work better with the RFX leverage. Want to keep the bike light.

You make it sound like I'm the only one that does this. :D
Whatever you decide, crown it with a 24k gold, diamond studded Rolex headbadge.
See below...courtesy of Squeak.
