I am new to mountain biking. We have a lot of trails near my home, and I am hoping to ride in the Xterra Epic (a triathlon with a 30 mile trail ride) at the end of the summer. I do not have a bunch of money to throw at a new bike, but I want a bike that I will be able to use and be happy with for a couple years. I currently get a deal for 40% off diamondback (don't start screaming yet). Please take a honest look at the component list before replying. The bike i am considering is the OverDrive Comp which cost $720 (MSRP $1200). I would like to know if this is worth considering....Thank you.

I have not had a chance to ride it yet. I was curious if the compents for the price range are garbage and need to be replaced, or if they are suitable. I wasn't sure if this bike should be on my list for consideration.
