I got a flat out on the trail this weekend and spent about 20 minutes trying to pump up my tire with a piece of s**t Schwinn pump that I picked up from the local sporting goods store. Luckily, a guy came down the trail and offered to help. He had a crank brothers alloy power pump. It worked fast, was easy to get going, was pretty light weight and it had a good pressure gauge built in. I'm going to get one and retire the POS Schwinn.

+1 Mountain Morph. It's a little bigger than a mini-pump but still small enough for most camelbacks- that extra size, and having a flexible tube going to the valve nozzle makes a big difference.

Found mine in a race just after I fell. I guess the original owner fell there too.
It's a bit large to carry on your bike, but if you got a CamelBak, it's a great choice.
