has anybody successfully dissambled the 2008 BB7 calipers? I want to hi polish them and want to pull them apart to do it. Any bad expeiriences?

The service instructions for the current model are posted on SRAM's website, available for download in PDF format.

This covers caliper disassembly, service and reassembly, which would be good enough for me to serve as an official "go ahead" from SRAM to strip 'er down and buff it out. I would just make sure to stick to external areas only; no mating surfaces.
I'm sure you're not concerned about warranty implications, right?
