I wanted to put my pugs on the roof rack, but the fork is 135mm spacing...what to do? spacers!

30 minutes or so later (crappy minilathe), and walla :)...spacers for a 20mm forkup.

Hurricane Fork Up for Surly Pugsley 135mm

The Company "Hurricane Components" makes a mount they call (Fork Up for Surly Pugsley 135mm). Any shop that has a QBP account can Order it for you. Its around $90.00. It works good, I have one on my car.
Looks good Ron. You seem to have an answer for just about everything.

It's been a long time since we ridden together but Merry Christmas from Brandon in Jackson, WY.
Or you can buy a Thule Criterium and keep the wheels on. It only takes a few seconds to put any bike on, or take it off.

Good to know there are products for fat bikes:). I already had the 20mm forkup (for my other bikes), so it made sense to just make spacers:)
mmm. Ti.... drool. I wonder if I had a lighter fat bike, would I ride it more (besides snow).
very snug and no hassle.

Bighit,

What's the name of that rack please?

Al
it's the yakima king cobra. you can set it for 20-29" tires. i put it in 29er mode and the tire fits in there very snug. you have to give it a shot to get it out, but it dosent wobble around up there at all 60+mph:thumbsup:

Bighit,

Thanks Mate,

Al
go to my blog there are two big pics there.
My solution to the 135mm roof rack was to drill out the mount (Cheap Yakima) and just bolt on a heavy duty QR axle/QR. No less sketchy than the mount was previously. Not in the pic but the tray was bent so it is Endo Friendly, some 1in nylon webbing/fastener keep it there.

here is a good pic of the front. it takes all of 10 seconds to mount it up. after a ride in the cold you want to get it up there fast.
