I have a mate we call the sniper, he rides silently behind whoever he thinks will crash, just so he can revel in any crashing that goes down.

I enjoy every crash, even my own, as long as there's no serious injury. Pain is ok. I can't explain this. In fact last year I was flying through the air into a tree trying to suppress a giggle.

I only ever recall one time when it happened behind me: I passed a guy in a race and hopped a log - I was in a pretty good rhythm. The other guy tried to follow and hop the log at his slower pace and crashed spectacularly. He was OK, but my ears bled a little at the profanity.

Otherwise, always happened in front of me. In the past, it was often quite funny, and more often I was witness to some incredible saves, but I do recall one unlucky one that eventually went to the hospital.

These days we don't bounce so well, so the hijinx are at a minimum.

I get a certain psychopathic enjoyment riding up on a slower dude and when I ask to pass, I see their hairs go up when they hear my female voice, proceed not to let me pass but instead attempt to speed up, but I easily hold their wheel and put on the pressure until they mess up a line or have to unclip and I just ride by and say, "Thanks for the pass!"
