Can't help you yet, but I was going to send in my wife's mini Truth's Float R to PUSH for mods. Still haven't gotten around to it yet!tefloncat said:
Her problem is that at 135# W/ gear coupled with the low leverage ratio of the Ellsworth suspension design, she cannot effectively compress the shock. To get her the proper sag I had to lower the shock pressure down to about 60 psi and that just makes the bike very mushy even with zero rebound damping. I had to pump the shock up to about 90 psi to get decent compression and rebound feel, but that sacraficed the sag and plushness.
I spoke to PUSH and they said revalving the shock would make a big difference for her.
I also asked what "Ellsworth custom tuning" is all about and they told me the shock was basically tuned for less Propedal than the standard Float R because Ellsworth's suspension design doesn't need much platform. I believe that because my 99 Truth never had a platform shock and it does not bob. Less Propedal will give the bike a more plush ride.
I spoke with Ellsworth about this issue and they recommended a Romic with lighter spring but I opt to go with PUSH for the full custom tune. Everyone on MTBR that went with PUSH raved about it.
I'm going to make a concerted effort to send her shock in over the Christmas holidays and hopefully be able to report back with results soon.
