Comparing the above models, the 1000 has nicer shifting and brakes but I'm trying to figure if it is worth extra $600. What are the differences in the shocks equiped on each? Do you think the 1000 is worth the extra cash?

1000
Fork - Lefty Max SPV+
Rear Shock - Manitou Swinger 3-Way Air or Manitou Swinger 3-Way Coil

800
Fork - Lefty Max TPC
Rear Shock - Manitou Radium R Air

Well, SPV is nice to have on a long-travel bike that's going to see more pedaling than just going down. And on a single-pivot bike, it makes a much more efficient bike. The 1000 has SPV front and rear. I don't remember the rest of the specs but I heard good things about the Juicy brakes of the 1000 and the 1000 is probably lighter than the 800. I would go for the 1000 but it all depends of the prices and your budget. I personnally will probably go for the Prophet 2000, I just haven't heard the pricing here in Canada.
