New to the forums...

So I got my girlfriend to start riding with me, and I feel bad for her having to ride my old hardtail. So it's time to buy myself a new bike so she can ride my 2000 K2 full susp.

I've looked around, and have (almost) decided on a Prophet 800. But nobody in AZ has one!!!

I called a dealership in Casa Grande, and the chick said that Cannondale is going to be switching the shimano parts out for Hayes and SRAM to complete the "made in the usa" aspect in a few weeks. Is there anything to this? One of the reasons I want to buy Cannondale is the made in the usa aspect.

Does anybody know what the current ship times are for the Prophet 800 from Cannondale? I don't want to wait, but I might if it is worth waiting a few weeks.

Also, I rode a Prophet 600 yesterday and wasn't very impressed. I've gotten used to being able to use the shock rebound to "hop" my bike over stuff, and it seemed nearly impossible to do on the 600 yesterday. Is this due to new damping technology in today's shocks?

I just bought a Prophet 800. I live in NY and they are made in PA, it took 2 days from time of order for my LBS to get the bike. They upgraded the dual controls on it to LX shifter and Avid Juicy 7's for free because of circumstances I went through with them.

FYI they sold me the bike for 1699.99, that may help in your negotation process a little.
