I've used Mutanoraptor 2.4s as a front tire on my SS for a couple of years. The stock rim on my bike was a cheapo Sun rim. But I never had a problem mounting up this tire with Stan's notubes. So I invested in a decent wheelset which uses DT Swiss 4.1 rims. I went ahead and gave the Eclipse tubless system (uses a rim strip - similar to Stan's) a try. First it was a pain to even get the tire on. Then it took me a day to get it finally mounted. I got one ride on it thinking everything was great. But the next day the bead had collapsed down and it was flat.

The one odd thing about this combo is that it kind of mounts at about 20psi. But as you go up from there the air tries to rush out till it gets back down to 20psi. So it's like it stretches the bead the more air you put in. Oh yeah, I'm using Stan's sealant.

Anyone have any ideas? Can you recommend an alternative large volume tire that is similar to the Mutanos?

Thanks in advance.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Schwalbe Racing Ralph UST. I notice on your site that the volume of the non-UST version doesn't seem that large compared to the MutanoRaptor 2.4. Does it feel fat and cushy like the Mutano? That is what I like. I know there are other that are more voluminous but I need a good volume/weight ratio.
