Primer 29 (2021): Cable routing below BB + Cable rattle

1520 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Kyle2834
I bought a frame (Primer 29 2021 large) and is preparing to assembly.

Will someone help me with the cable routing below the BB?
Preferable with some pictures so I can use sufficient cable length (bot not too much) to allow rear triangle movement.

Any tips on the internal routing is also welcome.
Anything I shall be aware of to avoid cable rattle?

Thanks!

38mm/1.5" gap (at least for the Sniper). If you want to make certain that you have enough slack, you can let the air out of the rear shock and fully compress the rear suspension to see if your line(s) are under tension.

My Sniper and Carbine both have carbon guide tubes inside the frame and chainstays, so I'm guessing your Primer should also have them. They will definitely speed up your build and keep the rattling to a minimum.

There is a video on Intense's website on how to set the gap...

Intense really needs to make this more known on their bikes from Costco which I've always seen configured improperly.
If you're running axs, this may be something to think about.

Since I'm using axs, I only have a hydro line running below my Sniper's bb. Just checked it and most of the line's slack under the bb worked its way up to the top loop. I obviously can't use the donut they provided, so here's hoping a couple zip ties around the line will help keep it in place.

Even my donut thing wasn't holding all that well so I added zip ties anyway to be sure.
