I am looking to pick up a preston frame and split between a Med and Lg. I about 6'2' but kinda like a smaller frame. I would like to have the smaller seat tube cause I would say my upper body is a little longer, for freeride. However this will be a all mountain bike and don't want to be cramp on XC rides. Right now I would say I am about 55/45% xc/fr. Is anyone my size riding a Med? Any help would be appreciated.
Contact Transition if you haven't yet, they're more than willing to help out. I'm 5'10" and ride a medium, and it's a pretty good fit. 6'2" might be pushing it unless your legs are shorter, but like I said the guy's at Transition can probably answer you better than me.
Just do a search for the Preston and you will find that most people who are using it for an AM setup would tell you to get the Large, and from what I have read, the frames run a little short in the TT. I am still trying to figure out which size to pick up, because my current ride has a 23in TT, which I don't like, and I am much more comfortable on my wife's frame, which is smaller, but the TT is 23.9. Go figure, hope this helps.
