pre built wheels under 400?

Any recomendations on a set of prebuilt Disc wheels for XC-trail riding. 400 is about my limit. Found xt/mavic 717 for 250, Cane creek for 350 (kinda have their own spokes, should I worry) and Sun DS1 xc for 3 ish. Any ideas on the best for longevity/smooth rolling. Thanks

Why only prebuilt?

Your price range is in the area of some nice hand built options. Get the rims and hubs you want built up by a great builder. For starters, I'd contact Larry at Mountain High Cyclery or Chad at Red Barn and see what they could do for you. Just my 2 cents.

These wheels are a great deal. Some have had problems with WTB hubs in constantly wet conditions, but for dry CO they've been excellent after 3 years of hard riding.
Don't forget to check out oddsandendos.com. They have several builds on their website for less than $400 shipped. Mike Garcia who runs the site is building me a set of Hope Pro II's with Velocity VXC rims for $428 shipped (a prebuilt wheelset for $400 at other places will be more after taxes and shipping). Give him a call, you'll get a wheelset tailor made for your weight and riding style, can't beat that!
