I think my city is in need of some positive news in light of the recent events. I had heard some rumors that there were discussions going on at city level to developed the area around Gilroy Gardens. Gilroy Gardens is a city-owned facility and owns pretty much the entire backside of that park. I had been told they were looking at developing the area for a lift served mtn bike and zip line park.
Well, here is the first official bits I could find about it. On Monday, council was given a detailed presentation by the developer, Select Contracts. I don't know how likely this is to happen and when but that would be very cool to have access to this without having to spend 3-4 hours going to North Star.
Anyhow, if you want to hear about it, you can see the council meeting video here: Video Outline - City of Gilroy, CA
Just click on "Gilroy Gardens Presentation of Its Master Plan Phase I, Proposed Hillside Development" link on the agenda to be taken to the part where they talk about this project.
