Most trails were still covered with almost 10 inches of fresh snow. Only a few trails had been used enough to be rideable.

Just a few minutes into the new year.

Picture of town.

Not that you can tell. What a great night for a ride. 10 degrees, full moon, couple inches of fresh powder. I wish I could have taken the DSLR to get some cool night shots but I took the point and shoot and a bit of optimism. Oh well, Happy New Year everyone.

I took a ride out to Holme Pierrepont watersports park. Which is just outside nottingham: Google map

Here's the decomissioned Trent Lock #1, which disgorges some long-forgotten canal in to the River Trent.

Lady Bay Bridge, which I crossed over on my way here

Old wharves on the riverside

I don't know who lives here, but I could almost smell the money burning :p

Same here, "upmarket" riverside apartments. Probably cost more than I earn in 4 years...

A shot towards the end of the whitewater course showing the huge rowing lake off to the right. And some ducks chillin' on the bank on the left

The river Trent is a "canalised" river, which is broken up by all kinds of weirs and stuff to control the water flow. Here are the locks which bypass the big weir

The whitewater course, from the rough end

The big weir structure on the river. I was hoping that there's be pedestrian crossing here so I could ride back on the opposite side of the river. But no such luck.

Heading back into town, via Trent bridge this time

We've had a very wet late fall/early winter with slightly cooler than nornal temps here in Centex. But for New Years today, I did wash off all the grime and mud from the last 3 or 4 mud rides last month.

Too bad I didn't see this thread until AFTER I got home from riding ;)
It's been pouring rain here in Seattle off and on all day, so no riding. Had a great ride last Sunday on semi frozen trails.
been wet here in Texas for weeks. no riding today. tomorrow is a maybe.....
Does riding the couch after tinkering on the bikes in the garage count?
No pics for me.

Rode the local park, but it was so wet I didn't even take the waterproof camera.

Getting out for some fresh air and get the blood circulating was a good way to clear the head.
Happy New Years to everyone

from Albuquerque NM...may the new years bring more riding time to everyone!!!

Happy New Year from Sunny Alamogordo NM

Went on a 70 mile rode ride yesterday, the views were amazing and it was a nice balmy 65 degrees. I only had my cell phone but I had to take a picture of Sierra Blanca, I'm not sure but I want to say its the highest elevation change in New Mexico; not the highest point but the largest elevation change.

My New Years ride was inside on the trainer. Way too much snow (25" since Christmas) and way too cold (-16F for the high) for riding outside. Yes, my winter fat is in full effect:rolleyes:
