Hey everyone,
Finally got to testride an ETSX on the weekend, rides nice, & alot lighter than my liquid20.

Probably going to do a custom build, so I'm curious what everyone else has out there, & how much the bikes weigh if possible.

Thanks all.

Here are the specs for my ETSX. I've only had her for a few months so it's still a work in progress. Little by little I'm trying to shave weight here and there, and upgrading to full XTR as well. I'm not sure of her current weight but I'd have to guess around 25 or 26 pounds. Once I have access to a scale I'll weigh her.

2006 Rocky Mountain ETSX-50 Build

FRAME : Easton 7005 FS Custom Ultralite
SHOCK : Fox Float RP3
FORK : Fox Talas RL
BRAKES : Shimano LX Hydraulic
REAR DERAILLEUR : Shimano XTR
FRONT DERAILLEUR : Shimano LX
CRANKSET : RaceFace Evolve XC X-type
HEADSET : FSA Orbit
SHIFTERS : Shimano LX Dual Control
CASSETTE : Shimano XTR
CHAIN : SRAM PC991 Hollowpin
WHEELS : Mavix Crossmax XL
TIRES : Panaracer Fire XC, 26x2.1, 127 TPI Casing
TUBES : Maxxis Ultralight
HANDLEBAR : RaceFace Next SL Low Rise, 25.4mm
STEM : Thomson X-2, 100mm, 25.4mm
SADDLE : WTB Rocket V Stealth
SEATPOST : RaceFace Next SL, 27.2, 350mm
PEDALS : Shimano SPD 540
GRIPS : RaceFace Lock-on Grips

Here's a pic of her minus some of the latest upgrades. BTW I love this bike! :

Nice rides guys!

Just got a call back from the shop, I guess the '07 frames (x50 & up) have some carbon fiber seat stays, should shave a bit of weight.
& guess the shimano dual-conrol are gone as well, which is nice cuz I don't think I wanted to try em.

The rear is carbon on the ETSX-50 and up. The dual control is pretty nice but I plan on buying the 07 XTR hydraulic brake levers and shifter pods.

That is a sweet 70, both the RP3 and the talas are pushed? How is the sram x.o with the xtr?

2005 ets-x 50

I changed the wheelset (crossmax XL), the brakes (2007 juicy 7, on the old picture it's still a juicy 5), got 2007 XT-shifters and RD, and swapped out the race face evolve stem, handlebar and seatpost for RF deus XC :)
I'd love to know how much it weighs...

My aggressive build

Mine started out as the originial ETS-X 50 (before the yellow paint job). Have the frame fail in 04 and was sent an 05 ETS-X 70 frame by RM. So here is the current build:

04 Marz Z1FR QR20
Push'd Fox Float RL (original)
Deore M555 disk brakes with 8" front rotor
LX shifters
LX front derailleur
XT rear derailleur
Hone triple cranks
SRAM 990 11-34t cassette
RF Prodigy stem
Easton EC70 riser bars
ODI Ruffian Lock-ons
Original Mavic 223/Deore hubs wheelset with the front rebuilt with Marz thru axle hub
Panaracer Cinder tires
(I am going to upgrade, can't decide between nevegal 2.35 and 2.1. Any suggestions are welcome, just consider I ride in the Pacific North-wet)

This thread makes me cry.

I had an '05 ETSX 90, nicest riding bike I've ever touched.
Red/White frame
RP3
Reba WC
Deus headset
Mavic 717's
Hope XC hubs
Pana' Fire XC tires
XT cranks
XTR derailleurs
-chain/cogset
Juicy 7 brakes
Easton EA 50 seatpost
EA70 bars/stem
WTB power V saddle (I think...hated it)

Bought the bike second hand dirt cheap $3500can, it was a demo at a shop and ridden by one of the employee's, wasent the best setup for a 90, but it was still top notch. Weighed close to 30lbs.

Just bought a set of the Easton AM Havoc's from Price Point (smokin' deal $449) and stuck them on the ETSX-70. I had been running Hope XC hubs and Mavic 317 rims, but found the rims were a bit narrow for 2.35 Kenda Kinetics, so I was looking at getting a wider rim to get a wider tire carcass profile. The outside rim width on the Mavics was 23mm and the Havocs are 28mm. I figured I'd take a fairly big hit on the wheel weight increase but was surprised that the Hope/317 wheels were 1920gms with rim strips, and the Havocs were 1930gms with rim strips. The Havocs are really stiff laterally.

Here's My Pair...

Well, I have a pair of ETS-X90's (as well as '03 Slayer and '06 Ellsworth Moment just to prove I am not bias towards RM :) ). Anyway, I purchased my first ETS when RM only made a few back in '01 I think to test the waters. Regardless, I have been through a frame once a year it seems right up to the current '07. I must say that RM's warranty guys are nothing but teh best at what they do, period! So good in fact, that is why I bought the Slayer and ultimately the second RM in '06 (that was a leftover '05) as a race bike. Since the '07 came, I now use that as my race bike and train on the '05 ETS. Anyway, the builds...

Here's the build of the '07 Team Issue/Colors...
Full '06 XTR package
Easton EA70 31.8 Stem
Easton EC70 31.8 Bars
Race Face Carbon Seat Post
WTB saddle
IRC Serac XC UST
Mavic Crossmax SL
PUSH-ed Fox Talas RLC
SRAM PC-991 Hollow-Pin Chain

Here's the build of the '05 Special Edition Black (only pic I have is me racing on it in the Wilderness 101 Race in PA this past summer, as you can see, it's quite capable)...
Hayes Mag 9 Carbon brakes
Mavic CrossMax SL wheels
Easton EA50 Stem
Easton EC70 Bar
Easton EC70 Seat Post
Full XTR Drivetrain (older style)
WTB Saddle
Fox TALAS RLC (will be PUSH-ed in the Spring)
IRC Serac XC UST
SRAM PC-991 Hollow-Pin chain

Now for all those of you who may want to ask, I have no idea the weights of the bikes and frankly don't care. I love the looks and more importantly the way the ride and handle. I race the Endurance races and a typical ride for me is a good old fashioned New England 3 hour 30 mile loop. The ETS is the right bike for me in doing this.
