I cringed thinking about that when posting. He does wear a helmet when doubling up on my bike and on “coasting” days. Just refuses it when he is doing the side push method.

Someone else on these forums (besides @mtnbkrmike) has one as well. These sophisticated DIY custom cardboard & duct tape seats seem to be the next big style thing.
Perhaps MTBR should consider creating a new sub-forum for them?
