possible purchase of trance 29, sizing and other questions

hey guys, i'm looking into a trance 29 for my next bike...i ride my bikes mostly XC and trail..i like to ride my bikes everywhere, trails, downhill, long fire road climbs, but also to the grocery store and everywhere in town as well as commuting to work 5 times per week...is the trance 29 a bike that is a great all arounder like that? i have a medium 2020 yt jeffsy which is a pig to ride around on flats terrain with a wheelbase of 1203...I'm 5'7" and i ride mediums typically or before the LLS era of geo, looking at the size chart of giant always puts me in between small and medium on every model...it's hard for me to test bikes we have only one very small bike shop in town, they are out of bikes as you can imagine...i looked at the stance 29 but the parts spec is a little cheap for my taste such as the ball bearing rear wheel hub...

I'm your height, short inseam (30"-31"). Long torso. The medium fits perfect. I have the 2019 Trance Advanced 29.

thanks, how is the bike on an all day xc ride?

I'm 5-10 with longish torso and shorter legs, and I was borderline between M and L. When I rode, it was obvious to me that I preferred the large. The T29 is not an especially big bike by modern standards.
I was able to test ride during the shortage by driving to a bike shop that had Trance 29 rentals...

With the right saddle and tires, its great for all day epic xc rides. I believe the new 2022 model has a steeper seat angle, so maybe even better for longer climbs in the saddle. Not sure if Giant bumped up the travel to 120mm. The 115mm on mine is plenty for what I do.
