Hey, I went riding to today and took a spill, when I got back up my hayes lever was popped out with the plunger (? looks like a rod with a ball on the end) dangling around. I tried to pop it back in, but the lever just kept swinging out and it never stayed, anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

Check out the diagram there is a circlip washer & plunger. The plunger goes into the piston then the washer then the circlip holds the whole thing in place.

Thanks for the response, but is there any way I could fix this without having to rebleed the system?

I have not tryed it that way, but i have never pulled the ball out of the socket from a crash either. You are the 2nd on this year. I have taken them apart for rebuilding but neve to reinsert the push rod ball. If every thing is perfect it might be possible but i belive the fluid will be pushing the piston back & out the master cylinder. The other problem is getting the circlip out then back in, it's quite the chalenge, not extreamly hard just irratating.

Do it right, rebleed the system. It's about 5 minutes to do.
