Polygon T8 OMG!

So I got this delivered on the 24th just in time for Christmas... to be disappointed.

Missing box that should contains the tools, other stuff, and of course the most important part... the free beer opener :D .
Bent and scratched front spokes, wonky front rotor, rim not trued.
Major issue with the frame at the joint at the bottom of the seat tube... it looks like chipped parts...

Quality control is lacking, phone support is lacking, email support is slow to respond. This will be my last purchase from bikes online until they have a physical shop.

Are you buying a bike to ride, or as a decoration for your garage?

Maybe I missing something in your pic, but that pivot point “issue” you’re talking about just looks like a bad paint line?
Wow. Someone drew red arrows and circles all over your frame.

where are the pics of the wheel/rotor? i wouldn't be worrying too much about the paint as it's not really noticeable and won't affect ride. the wheel on the other hand...
It is only the start of the second business day after Christmas, you may be a bit hasty on the customer service quality assessment. While I do agree that a few rides will add some scuffs and scratches I would also not be happy to get a new in box item that looked like it had already been on a few rides or assembled carelessly. That always begs the question "what is wrong that I CAN'T see?"

Buying sight unseen carries these risks. I just ordered a Guerrilla Gravity so it's a risk I am willing to take and if the same issue occurs with me I will definitely be reaching out to them. I would not expect them or anyone to deal with me in an expedited fashion or off hours. Stuff happens. You just have to deal with it as it comes.

All that said, missing a box is not great but I would assume that's on logistics not the vendor. The wheel issue is a major one. Was the main box damaged in shipment?

Good luck with there customer service. I love the bikes I bought but. I have been dealing with problems since 2019 with 2 bikes I bought new. Don’t hesitate to send back and get better service elsewhere. (There is a time limit to do so). Maybe a pain for the short term but you’ll be better off in the long term. If you keep bike (mine is great if your not waiting on shipping container, Covid something, or mechanic/salesperson trying to figure out a simple derailleur hanger problem) 2 years. I Hope you have a backup bike. Just my experience. 🤟 Just Ride.

The scratches are on the outside and there is no way they were damaged in transit. The box is scuffed up but no holes. The bent spoke could be from the crank but it's bent inwards rather than upward or downward.

The pics don't show much, the damages look worse in person.

Yikes! Try reaching out to Polygon directly. Bikes Online may just be a reseller, picked the box from the warehouse and didn't actually open and inspect the bike before shipping it out to you. I would also be very unhappy to receive a new bike in that condition.

Ok, true your wheels and take a sharpie and faux the chipped paint.
I true wheels before any build I do, and I do plenty of em... There is no way to get through without edges taking a little chip since that is a highly vulnerable place that cannot deal with any harsh treatment at all. Flat surfaces will take more of a beating than an outside corner.

Faux it and move on...
Screw that! You just dropped $2500+ on a new bike. There are more expensive bikes out there, but I have seen bikes in nicer condition at Walmart. You are justified to be upset here! They are promising an experience on the same level as Trek, Specialized, etc... and have a 14 day free return.

I can totally appreciate that its right after X-Mas, but that 14day timer is ticking. Get that thing packed and shipped back asap!

I don’t sweat a couple scratches, but QC here is not too inspiring. I’d give any one of these things a pass and not sweat it, but all together… not good.

QC snafus can be overcome with good follow-up support, but if that is also lacking… not good.

If it is true that there is a 14 day return window and they are still not responding, and you are unhappy with the bike, I’d consider returning it.

Do what makes YOU feel best here. Its easy for people to say “its no big deal, just shut up and ride” but its not their bike and their money.

I can sympathize with it being a holiday and them not being too responsive, but if the 14 day return window is not taking a holiday as well, then tough cookies.

I emailed them on the 24th, they replied on the 27th, and said they will send the FEDEX label , but 4 days on, I haven't received anything.

I will wait till Monday/Tuesday after the new year and see what happens.

I am thinking of ordering the same bike again, depending on what happens next week.
I have read that they have resent the same damaged bike to someone before. They have no stock, global shortages. I am still waiting for my bike from them.

Maybe they will mail me yours. 🤣

Yikes...just ordered the same bike from the same place a couple of weeks ago. Still about 6 weeks out from receiving it based on their shipping estimates.

Like Philco if Stanceslao returns the damaged bike I hope they don't send it to me! Hope it all gets resolved soon enough...and I get a pristine bike (crosses fingers).

They receuved the bike last last week in a Monday. It's been 2 weeks and I heard nothing from them so I emailed yesterday morning with a screenshot of the fedex delivery. I got a reply in the afternoon saying a refund was submitted to the accounting depqrtment. Then I got a confirmation email last night that they refunded my payment. Good luck with your bike and I hope you get a new one.
I'd bet that bike was a customer return. Usually they are sold as demo bikes with a small discount, but sometimes they ship them out as new bikes. They usually offer a partial refund or store credit for minor issues, and offer to reimburse any repairs at a local shop (like getting the wheel trued). They are not perfect by any means but the service is usually ok. I have bought a few bikes from them over the years and while I am overall satisfied with this service, it isn't as good as the service from a store you can walk into but the prices are generally a bit lower too for an equivalent product.
