I think I got some PO on one of my shoes a few months ago. Now, every time I wear them, I get PO on the same part of my ankle.

Anybody have the same thing happen? Suggestions for how to wash it off? I thought about the washing machine, but from past experience, sometimes shoes aren't quite the same afterward.

if you are nearby by a small creek or stream, use some wet sandy/loamy clay from the waterway and rub it on any skin/article of clothing that comes in contact with poison oak/ivy. the 'poison' is oil based and will be absorbed by the clay from the stream bed.

if there is no moist clay near by, as another poster said, pee on the affected area. sounds gross, but bad reactions to poison oak can be even grosser.

this has saved my skin many times on long hikes.
