I am in need of replacement parts for a Schwinn S20 (1998).

The nylon (?) bearing for the rear suspension swingarm pivot point (where the swingarm attaches to the other part of the frame).

Any other parts that aren't generic and/or still buyable in any ol' bike shop.

I have been looking all over for these and keep hearing that I just gotta get lucky. I am hoping somebody knows of a place or person that has some of these. I am in great need. I am going to have to retire the Schwinn if I can't find them, this will make me sad :(

Thanks for all your help

Schwinn's gone T-U 2x, and is now owned by a Cdn. juvenile furniture maker that bought Pacific/Schwinn/GT in Jan 04.

Try a bearing shop for steel bearings, the assembly will weigh more but it might bail you out, and Google a lot. You are going to have to get lucky.

BETD in the UK made replacement bearings for GT from steel, but they reportedly didn't work all that well. I dunno who or if anyone does the same for Schwinn.
