Greetings,

I'm moving to Africa to work with a children's' charity and I have to get rid of this bike before I go.

I bought this a few years ago and while I see is says Specialized Rockhopper A1X (I think) I'd appreciate your help:

THIS IS NOT AN OFFER TO SELL THIS BIKE ON THIS FORUM - NOT AN AD

1. Model. Is the bike a Specialized Rockhopper A1X, or something else?

2. Value. The bike has about 20 miles of hike-n-bike trail use (look at the tires). A couple of rub marks on the frame from a car-mounted bike rack but otherwise flawless as far as I can tell.

A. In central Colorado, what price should I ask for the bike?

B. What's the lowest price I should accept on a person-to-person deal? Price selling used to a bike shop?

3. Selling method. Craigslist, eBay or other method?

It is as it says...a Specy Rockhopper. Probably mid-2000s variety..do you know how old it is? Its got 26" wheels, V-brakes, and 9-speed. I would ask $250 for the bike on craigs. While it can take disc brakes (frame and fork are compatible), the hubs are not so the upgrade is more costly. Certainly a nice bike for someone, but the technology is getting dated and if you try to get too greedy you are competing with new bikes with more modern components etc.

Edit. Funny...I typed this before looking at the BBB link above...I was close.
