Hi folks

I'm from Costa Rica and as you might know MTB is a big thing here...I just got my first bike it's a HAR Flightline black...I don't know much about bikes, Iheard is a good bike for begginers, I did chose this one instead of Trek...don't know why...but both are cool bikes.

I want to install hidraulic brakes, is it ok?

thaks for the help !!!

If you currently have mechanical disc brakes, changing to hydraulic shouldn't be a problem. If you have rim brakes, you need to check for disc brake mounting bosses of frame and fork, and disc mount capability of both hubs.

Simply put, if you have or can have disc brakes, they can be hydraulic if you wish.

Your bike appears to have disc brake mounts on the frame, so the only question is whether you can mount the discs on your hubs or will have to replace the wheels.

If your wheels are not compatible, ride the bike as is for now, and when replacing either wheel consider the brake upgrade, and buy wheels with disc compatible hubs.

It appears to be a Flightline 1, although I could be wrong. It doesn't seem like there are disc mounts of any kind on the hubs and the frame doesn't appear to have bosses for the rear caliper. Personally, I wouldn't try to put disc brakes on this bike. Put some good pads on your rim brakes and just ride. If you really start getting into it, save up and get a nice mid-range bike in the future.
