While mounting a (new) SRAM X-9 rear dereailluer I noticed a bit of "play" in the derailluer body as it mounts to the frame. The mounting screw seems to be fully threaded into hanger. Has anyone seen this kind of thing? Does SRAM have a different length mounting bolt than Shimano?Any help is appreciated.

This gets brought

up a lot around here. The play seems to be very common and of no concern to shifting performance. Once you install your chain and tension up the derailleur it is pretty solid. I got two X-9's and they both have the play you describe and my shifting is flawless.

KCC,

Thanks for the response. I found previous post (after i posted of course, doh! ) that all detailed the same thing. First ride on singletrack last night and shifting was spot on.
