This just hit the news today. With unanimous support in the state Senate, this is probably more or less a done deal. Curious if mtb will be part of it. The article suggests the possibility.

I would guess from the existing infrastructure that it will be mainly an equestrian facility. I don't know of an existing State Park tailored towards horses and it sure seems like a need. Selfishly, of course, seeing that I live a half mile from the property, I am hoping for riding but there's no shortage of MTB trails in Pisgah. Definitely not a scarce resource.

They DO allow guests to bring mtb's and ride them on their trails currently, fwiw (says so on their website).
