Down in SC our snow and ice are all gone. How about NC/Pisgah? Are the trails snow/sleet/iced over, or just sloppy? Thanks!

earlier this week they were frozen and hard packed. I doubt that's still the case. Avoid Bent Creek. Stay high to stay dry...



erm, what I mean is that the higher elevation trails seem to always drain very well around here. Avoid the lower lying trails and you should be fine.

Yeah, we have the high and dry thing figured out. It's the pedal/crash/pedal/crash/clip in one leg/crash/get off and walk/fall down cycle that can happen when the trails still have snow crusted w/ ice that I hope to avoid. ;-)

Slight chance (30%) of snow tonight. Has anybody been up in the mtns? The big winter storm was a bit of a joke. Asheville is totally snow free but maybe something stuck way up in the mtns.

Plume is right, bent creek has been very goopy recently. The freeze thaw cycles along with the over use have made things wet and goopy. Traction is actually better when things are frozen and crunchy hard.

Pisgah trails seam much drier in comparison.

Who knew? Pisgah got less snow than Greenville. My neighbor still has a snowman in his yard.

Saturday a.m. the ground was certainly crunchy hard...as were my toes.
