Is anyone riding Friday late afternoon or Saturday? I am hoping to get in a shorter ride Fri and then a really long one on Sat.

Dress warm

You can't just ride around Pisgah with just a 19 tooth cog:madman: Your gonna make us gearie's look bad! Are ya riding Sunday or heading back?
I can ride Pisgah on Sat...what did you have in mind?
Don't be ridiculous, I am not just bringing the 19t, I have a 32 in the front as well. I was hoping Carrie wouldn't be working on Sunday but it looks like she is after all so I have to come back a bit earlier.

I was thinking something with Farlow or Squirrel Gap.
If you hook up with cooleymtnbiker1- I can vouch for him , I let him ride off in front of me going up clawhammer last time, then he got tired and broke his derailleur off so he could go home.I would ride Farlow;Eric likes to send riders on a course around there, Do Farlow to daniel then back up to Butter and Long branch its a great fiqure 8 loop.
Ha....I didn't want to hurt you guys to much first time
hate to rain... err snow on the parade but the weather forecast looks "frightful."

It's gone from bad (3-5 inches) to worse (3-7 inches) accumulation with the lovely progression of sleet/snow/rain/sleet/snow/rain and overnight freezing.

However, if the whole thing blows over and/or it's at least not precipitating on Saturday AM I'd be interested in an adventure - is there a time and place decided yet?

From the NWS for Brevard -
Friday: Snow and sleet, becoming all snow after 1pm. High near 34. Light wind becoming north between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Friday Night: Snow. Low around 29. Blustery, with a north wind 17 to 20 mph decreasing to between 9 and 12 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Saturday: A chance of snow before 10am, then a chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 36. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Since I would be driving in from out of town, staying home is starting to look attractive. Unless this whole system somehow misses then I will probably not be making it. Maybe next weekend.
Always like to be optimistic about mountain weather reports, but this one is looking a bit funky. I have milk and all the essential B's: bread, beer, burger, bananas and bikes (to work on).

Were looking to hit Dupont on Sunday. Anbody local keep us informed on how the weather looks.

Thanks
Seriously? www.weather.com

We are going to get a good amount of precip one way or another from this. If I had to pick a weekend to ride Dupont this would not be it.

I live very close to DuPont. It is snowing like crazy here now.

My backyard in-town Brevard, about 2" in 2 hours this morning. It's stopped now and the rain is holding off, which is very good. My guess is at least twice as much snow out in the forest.

Two inches? Riiiight! You must have used the "male unit" measuring scale.:D Cause that don't look like no 2" to me!:p
Looking like the heavy stuff is going to hit Brevard around 3pm, still saying 8-12" total snowfall.

Look closer @ my official male unit measuring device

It was a bit more but we've had some rain and sleet that's pushing down the snow.

I'm showing about the same at my place. I'm about 4 miles southeast of downtown Brevard at about 2400'.
