God I want a piece of that trail.Headshok_1 said:I don't know how familiar you are with the area, but it's in between Twain Harte and Pinecrest on HWY 108. (Above Sonora)
live in Groveland(Pine Mtn. Lake)which is about 30 min from Sonora. I will have to find that trail next time I visit them. Nice pics...Headshok_1 said:I don't know how familiar you are with the area, but it's in between Twain Harte and Pinecrest on HWY 108. (Above Sonora)
Headshok_1 I am begining to think that you all have given up on cycling?[/QUOTE said:I can only speak for myself but it's been hard to ride lately. I don't know what's up with everyone else.

I don't think there is much of a TROGs anymore. I think there were 3 TROGS rides all summer and you were on at least one of the at Pinecrest (sweet sweet ride). I've seen Fred around and a little of Joseph but as for seeing more than 1 TROG on a given day??Headshok_1 said:George is that you? Do you still own a bike?? I rode with Vern, Snakebite and Max, so you know I pretty much got hammered but I rode it all(just slower). Where were all the TROGS? I am begining to think that you all have given up on cycling?
Yeah, I showed up Thursday morning but I just wanted to visit with old faces and see how everyone's family was doing. We used to get up to 50 people on Thanksgiving mornings and this year I'd guess there were about 14 or so.0gre said:George does all his mountain biking on the internet now. Rumour has it he showed up at dry creek on Thanksgiving and watched everyone do the turkey day ride (I was up in Sac riding with me bro).

being ignored...... why the silent treatment? Is it because I am not a TROG?scheckler said:live in Groveland(Pine Mtn. Lake)which is about 30 min from Sonora. I will have to find that trail next time I visit them. Nice pics...
Do you know of any trails(singletrack)up near Groveland? I found some fire roads off of Hwy. 120(Hells Hollow Rd.)between Groveland and Buck Meadows years ago but would like to get back up there to find some singletrack. The fire roads I found were in the Tuolumne Forest or Stanislaus Forest.
This isn't a TROGS only thread? Infighting and little jabs about George's tatoo getting more miles on a bike than he does is much more interesting that talking about trails.why the silent treatment? Is it because I am not a TROG?
I do appreciate the info. I know about RedHills but was wondering if there was any singletrack off of 120 up near Groveland. It seems to be perfect for mountain biking... all forest and mountains. I guess I could just explore the area and post what I find next time I am up there if what I find is legal. The fire roads I found off of Hells Hollow Rd. were pretty fun but that was a long, long, long time ago.0gre said:This isn't a TROGS only thread? If you are going to Groveland you will pass right by RedHills. RH is a great winter ride because it sucks up rain like a sponge. It's a very rough trail with lots of steep climbs and tons of loose rocks. None of the climbs are very long but they are steep and there are almost no flat sections.
"Buffed" Singletrack at RedHills
I'm sure there are tons of places to ride up there. Local knowledge required. I know quite a bit up by Angels Camp and into Strawberry/ Pinecrest and Bear valley but only because I've met locals. Net saavy people who share up the trail info are harder to find in the hills (people are too busy riding).scheckler said:I do appreciate the info. about Coulterville... thanks for the info on that.Headshok_1 said:You could go to Red Hills which is not far from Groveland. You can also ride at Dogtown which is by Coulterville.
I didn't realize there was infighting going on... I need to pay more attention.0gre said:Infighting and little jabs
"Infighting" is a bit of an exageration. Maybe ribbing is a little more acurate a word. Definitely shy of a flame war.george_da_trog said:I didn't realize there was infighting going on... I need to pay more attention.
