Pike and Crossmax XL axle problem...

Just got my Crossmax XL's in the mail today, and when I threw 'em on my Pike, there's about a half-inch gap between the hub and the end of the axle on either side, so the wheel moves freely from side-to-side.

Also, when spinning the wheel, the hub isn't tight on the axle, so bearing itself is spinning on the axle.

What am I missing here???

Sounds like the wrong hub adapters, or the hub adapters are missing???

My front hub looks exactly like the ones below; rather short. I think I'm missing the adapters/spacers... Do you know where I can get these?

A picture of your wheel would be helpful. I know what it is supposed to look like

I am not sure if you can get them directly from Mavic, any shop with a Mavic account can get the missing parts though.

My LBS just ordered the part for me... Phew! Thanks for the help though.

Yes, you've already solved your problem...spacers are required. That hub is convertible between standard 9mm QR axles and 20mm...and maybe more.

Oh...and those are not CrossMax XL's...I don't think. I have 3 sets of CrossMax XL's, and I think they were replaced by the CrossMax SX and ST models. I haven't seen a set like those yet...Crosslines?, if I'm reading correctly?

Yeah, those are Cross Lines in the photo. I just used them as an example 'cos the hubs there don't have spacers.
